The False Alarm Reduction Program Alarm Bylaw No. 1382 operated by the Regional District of Central Okanagan on behalf of the Central Okanagan East and Central Okanagan West Electoral areas and all local governments in the Central Okanagan (City of Kelowna, District of West Kelowna, District of Lake Country, District of Peachland and Westbank First Nation.)

To become registered:

  1. You complete the permit registration form above
  2. Pay for your permit fee online or by mail

Definition of a False Alarm:
An alarm activation that the police (RCMP) attend and find no evidence of criminal activity.

Why you should have a permit with the False Alarm Reduction Program?

  • Bylaw No. 1382 applies to Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation and Peachland that states if you have an alarm system you are required to have a permit with the False Alarm Reduction Program.
  • Helps reduce the number of false alarms the RCMP attends each year, freeing police resources.
  • For more information about the RDCO Alarm Bylaw No. 1382 please refer to the False Alarm Reduction Program and read Bylaw No. 1382

Who should have told you that you require an alarm permit?

  • When an alarm company installs a new alarm system they are to advise you, their client, of the Security Alarm Bylaw.
  • Many security companies registered you for your permit and charge you directly for the first year. After the first year, if you did not pay your renewal invoice, your account would have become unregistered.
