This program is for orchardists who want to chip wood waste (stumps and branches) from an orchard removal for replanting purposes and/or the land should remain agricultural. Orchards being removed for the purpose of residential or commercial development will not be accepted into the program. To qualify you should have at least the equivalent volume of 4 or more wood piles. Consider one wood pile size is 3m width x3m length x2m height.
This service is free. Your name will be put on a waiting list and a contractor will contact you to arrange the chipping. The wait list is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee that chipping jobs that are placed on the wait list will be performed on the same year. Delays may occur due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The site must be accessible for the chipping equipment. Limited funding per year.
If the chipping is urgent and you cannot wait, consider applying to the Mow-Chip Rent it rebate instead.
